You brighten my day!

Hey Crafty Friends,

I'm sure I'm not the only one who owns a ton of patterned paper that we don't use for one reason or another. For me I just don't find it inspiring and the stuff owned has been sat in the cupboard for some time!

As part of the recent Crafty Purple Frog launch it included a background stamp with lots of sentiments. So I thought why not try to transform some of that old tired paper.

Everything about this card today is out of my comfort zone, however I didn't let that put me off giving it all a go, we will never learn if we don't try! (click any image to view larger)

Taking a piece of green coloured paper that has a faint pattern in it that is barely visible and stamped a tone on tone colour using Catherine Pooler Garden Party ink. The words in the background stamp really transformed my love for this paper! I also took a stitched heart die to cut a panel from the paper.

The next part of my card is using the Flowers & Berries stamp set, I've seen a lot of no line colouring recently and wanted to give this a go myself, stamping the images in Dandelion Memento Ink and coloured up using Spectrum Noir Illustrators. As the ink and markers are the same colour it gives the no line affect and it was actually harder than it looks. Black lines always gave security of where I was colouring, this was a challenge!

Having stamped some of the solid leaves from the same set with Mint To Be Catherine Pooler Ink I decided it needed a little more to help the flowers pop, using a leaf die and cut 5 to place to place behind the flowers.

Finishing it up by adding a sentiment and 3 nuvo drops in the top right hand corner.

All of this was completely out my comfort zone, using flower stamps, no line colouring and using up that hated patterned paper! I love the overall result though and encourage you all to give something a go outside your comfort zone!

Until next time happy crafting!
