MyBesties - November Challenge

Hey Crafty Friends,

1st of the month means a new challenge on our Color it, Create it, Show it off challenge blog. All our challenges are always anything goes!

You are not limited to using MyBesties images in your projects however if you would like to treat yourself to a new image for the challenge you can do so here.

For my inspiration card today I am using the Reindeer Besties doll 1 which you can find here. The design is quick, clean and simple and would be perfect for a quick festive holiday card. As always all product links can be found at the end of my post.

Starting with the image printed on alcohol marker friendly card stock and coloured it up using Spectrum Noir Tri-Blends. (Click any image to view larger) 

Colour combination:

Hat and deer scarf: Blue Turquoise blend

Hair: Gold Brown and Gold Yellow blends

Skin: Fair Skin blend

Scarf and Trousers: Dark Red blend

Top: Green Turquise blend

Deer: Red Brown and Gold Brown blends 

I used a white signo uniball gel pen for the white patches over the image.

Reaching into my stash of dies and embossing folders, I decided to use Heffy Doodle Ovally Excited dies alongside an embossing folder that has a snowflake look. I embossed into some white card stock and then die cut using the largest oval from a glitter card stock and the slightly smaller one to die cut the oval from the embossed card.


For the sentiment I decided to add a little dimension to the card by using the Heffy Doodle Banner die with the coordinating roundabout sentiments stamp set. 

Tip: I find it easier to die cut the banner from the chosen card stock and then using Heffy Doodle Memo Tape or a washi tape could work to place the banner back in the card stock it was cut from making it easier to stamp with my MISTI the sentiment in the right place!

Using a Mini MISTI to stamp the sentiment, added a few sequins and this quick clean and simple card is ready for a recipient this upcoming holidays!

April Challenge - MyBesties

Hey Crafty Friends, It's a new month so that means the start of a new challenge over on the Colour it, Create it, Show it off challenge blog, as always our challenge is anything goes, that's any image, any project. This will be a shorter post again today, it's a very simple card. I coloured the image in Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and fussy cut around her. Taking a card blank and used Kitsch flamingo distress ink to bring down some colour to about a quarter down the panel and fade out into the white to give a very soft look and feel. Using some trees branches, flowers and leaves from a couple sets in my stash and a birthday sentiment to top this off and bring it all together.  I cant wait to see what you come up with for the challenge! Swan Galaxy - Interactive card!

Hey Crafty Friends, Welcome back, I'm sharing my usual design team post for Crafty Purple Frog a few days early because I am so impatient and love this card so much that I wanted to share with you all at the earliest opportunity!  Today's card is very fitting, I usually make a card with someone in mind or themed around something I've seen. My idea for this came as soon as I saw the set 'Spread your wings' This beautiful swan has big regal wings that meant it deserved the opportunity to fly! To start up I took a scalloped slimline frame die and inked up a galaxy type background, now the thing to remember with creating a galaxy background is it might look like a hot mess to start with! A galaxy background can use any colours you feel are fitting, I'm using Wilted Violet, Mermaid Lagoon and Candied Apple. You can put some greens and pinks in too if you would like.  Take a blending tool, I'm using a blending brush and bring in random sections of colour using you...
