November Challenge reminder

Hey Crafty Friends, 

I'm back today to share another inspiration card for our November challenge over on the Color it, create it, show it off blog. You can find all the details on how to enter here.

It's anything goes, any image, any theme, we encourage all crafts! However if you would like to treat yourself to a new MyBesties image for the challenge you can do so here.

The image I'm using today is Reindeers Besties Doll 12 which can be found here. (Click any image to view it larger)

As always I've started with the image printed on alcohol marker friendly card stock and coloured using Spectrum Noir Tri-Blends, I also added a little Spectrum Noir clear sparkle to the bow and bottom of the dress.


Colour combination:

Reindeer - Gold brown and Gold yellow blends

Hat + Dress - Light Green blend

Skin - Fair skin blend

Flowers, mug + Scarf - Dark Red blend

Now my idea was to have her looking like shes in the forest, relaxing with a hot drink with her reindeer friend. To start I blended a background of Candied Apple, Peacock Feathers and Blueprint Sketch distress inks over a Time for Tea Designs birch tree stencil using the Time for Tea beautiful blending brushes.

Pulling out my trusted Heffy Doodle stash for the Forest border dies. Cutting out some trees and blending some colour onto them using Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin and Mustard seed distress inks. Whilst I have my dies to hand I die cut a grass section and the word Hello from Lawn Fawn die cuts, I cut the word out 3 times to layer up and give some depth.

And here we have it all stuck together 😊

April Challenge - MyBesties

Hey Crafty Friends, It's a new month so that means the start of a new challenge over on the Colour it, Create it, Show it off challenge blog, as always our challenge is anything goes, that's any image, any project. Why not grab you favourite set and join us  here. If you would like to treat yourself to a new image you can find all the MyBesties images  here. This will be a shorter post again today, it's a very simple card. I coloured the image in Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and fussy cut around her. Taking a card blank and used Kitsch flamingo distress ink to bring down some colour to about a quarter down the panel and fade out into the white to give a very soft look and feel. Using some trees branches, flowers and leaves from a couple sets in my stash and a birthday sentiment to top this off and bring it all together.  I cant wait to see what you come up with for the challenge! Swan Galaxy - Interactive card!

Hey Crafty Friends, Welcome back, I'm sharing my usual design team post for Crafty Purple Frog a few days early because I am so impatient and love this card so much that I wanted to share with you all at the earliest opportunity!  Today's card is very fitting, I usually make a card with someone in mind or themed around something I've seen. My idea for this came as soon as I saw the set 'Spread your wings' This beautiful swan has big regal wings that meant it deserved the opportunity to fly! To start up I took a scalloped slimline frame die and inked up a galaxy type background, now the thing to remember with creating a galaxy background is it might look like a hot mess to start with! A galaxy background can use any colours you feel are fitting, I'm using Wilted Violet, Mermaid Lagoon and Candied Apple. You can put some greens and pinks in too if you would like.  Take a blending tool, I'm using a blending brush and bring in random sections of colour using you...
