Gift Card Pocket tag

Hey Crafty Friends,

I'm back today to share another Guest Design post for Melon Peach stamps.

Weve had a very crazy year and going out buying gifts is not something I fancied doing this year so I've been giving out gift vouchers to allow the recipient to use it at their leasure and treat themselves with exactly what they like! However I always find Gift Card holders to be boring so I thought why not make my own using a gift card pocket die. Recently I shared a non traditional coloured Christmas card over on Instagram using 2 Angel's from the digi stamp set by Melon Peach Stamps, if you didn't manage to see it you can find it here.

The Angel set included 3 Angel's so I was left with one already printed and of course had to use her for my project here. Angel's are not just for Christmas! 

Using Spectrum Noir Tri-Blends to colour her up and fussy cut the image out.


Colour Combination:

Skin - Tan blend

Hair - Gold Brown + Gold Yellow blends

Halo + Dress belt - Gold Yellow blend

Dress - Dusty Purple blend

Wings - Ice Blue blend topped with clear sparkle 

The recipient of this loves anything that sparkles so of course I had to incorporate this into the design. After die cutting out the pieces from the gift card heart pocket by Heffy Doodle I reached for the HoneyBee and Heffy Doodle celebration box collaboration set as it has some swirly solid lines that I felt would make a perfect backdrop to the Angel, WOW clear sparkle embossing powder is perfect for this. 

The solid swirly lines are stamped in Lilac Roses Memento ink and restamped on top with versamark to heat emboss.

Now we need a sentiment, Heffy Doodles and Crafty Maraki recent collaboration your a superstar stamp set has the perfect one, using a gift tag die in my stash I stamped the sentiment onto the tag in versarmark and heat embossed with fine silver WOW embossing powder. I tied to the 2 together with a little bit of thread.

I really love how this turned out!

April Challenge - MyBesties

Hey Crafty Friends, It's a new month so that means the start of a new challenge over on the Colour it, Create it, Show it off challenge blog, as always our challenge is anything goes, that's any image, any project. Why not grab you favourite set and join us  here. If you would like to treat yourself to a new image you can find all the MyBesties images  here. This will be a shorter post again today, it's a very simple card. I coloured the image in Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and fussy cut around her. Taking a card blank and used Kitsch flamingo distress ink to bring down some colour to about a quarter down the panel and fade out into the white to give a very soft look and feel. Using some trees branches, flowers and leaves from a couple sets in my stash and a birthday sentiment to top this off and bring it all together.  I cant wait to see what you come up with for the challenge! Swan Galaxy - Interactive card!

Hey Crafty Friends, Welcome back, I'm sharing my usual design team post for Crafty Purple Frog a few days early because I am so impatient and love this card so much that I wanted to share with you all at the earliest opportunity!  Today's card is very fitting, I usually make a card with someone in mind or themed around something I've seen. My idea for this came as soon as I saw the set 'Spread your wings' This beautiful swan has big regal wings that meant it deserved the opportunity to fly! To start up I took a scalloped slimline frame die and inked up a galaxy type background, now the thing to remember with creating a galaxy background is it might look like a hot mess to start with! A galaxy background can use any colours you feel are fitting, I'm using Wilted Violet, Mermaid Lagoon and Candied Apple. You can put some greens and pinks in too if you would like.  Take a blending tool, I'm using a blending brush and bring in random sections of colour using you
