Snow Globe - Cute Christmas Deer card

Hey Crafty Friends,

Today I'm sharing a card I made adapting a hot air balloon die into a snow globe. Don't you just love it when a die in your stash can work in more than one way! This is exactly what the Heffy Doodle hot air balloon die can do for you! 


To start I took the main hot air balloon piece and ink blended down a sky look with Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon and Tumbled glass. Use a little water to splat on top of the ink to create a snowy look, I also added some Copic Opaque White ink to splatter on too. I then took the little town border dies by Heffy Doodle and cut this from a white piece of card stock to add into the globe section. Ink the bottom up with a little Tumbled Glass to help it blend in with the rest of the globe.

For my images I am using the Deer to Me stamp set by Heffy Doodle. I have coloured them using Copics and add some dotting over the images using the Pear Blossom Press White Gel Pen so it gives the feel they really are in the snow!

Now to make the bottom section of your globe, I have taken a piece of scrap card, ensure the top part of the card is already straight, if you need to trim across the top so it's straight. Take the main part of the Hot Air Balloon die to use as a guide and rest it at the top of your of card, take the 2 curved cutting pieces in the set and stick these down either side of the main balloon section. Run this through your dies cutting machine.
Now take a stitched die and create a stitch at the top and then also again at the bottom, I have created my stitch at the bottom just by where the curve bends back out. I then trimmed the bottom straight under this stitch. I hope this makes sense, if anyone has any questions please feel free to leave a comment and I will assist in any way I can!

April Challenge - MyBesties

Hey Crafty Friends, It's a new month so that means the start of a new challenge over on the Colour it, Create it, Show it off challenge blog, as always our challenge is anything goes, that's any image, any project. Why not grab you favourite set and join us  here. If you would like to treat yourself to a new image you can find all the MyBesties images  here. This will be a shorter post again today, it's a very simple card. I coloured the image in Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and fussy cut around her. Taking a card blank and used Kitsch flamingo distress ink to bring down some colour to about a quarter down the panel and fade out into the white to give a very soft look and feel. Using some trees branches, flowers and leaves from a couple sets in my stash and a birthday sentiment to top this off and bring it all together.  I cant wait to see what you come up with for the challenge! Swan Galaxy - Interactive card!

Hey Crafty Friends, Welcome back, I'm sharing my usual design team post for Crafty Purple Frog a few days early because I am so impatient and love this card so much that I wanted to share with you all at the earliest opportunity!  Today's card is very fitting, I usually make a card with someone in mind or themed around something I've seen. My idea for this came as soon as I saw the set 'Spread your wings' This beautiful swan has big regal wings that meant it deserved the opportunity to fly! To start up I took a scalloped slimline frame die and inked up a galaxy type background, now the thing to remember with creating a galaxy background is it might look like a hot mess to start with! A galaxy background can use any colours you feel are fitting, I'm using Wilted Violet, Mermaid Lagoon and Candied Apple.
