Masculine Light up card!

Hey Crafty Friends,

Welcome back it's been a couple week since I have been able to do a full blog post. Today I'm sharing an masculine light up card. Making cards for men is something out of my comfort zone, however this badger from Crafty Purple Frog makes it easier to create a more masculine card and what better than an interactive light up card for a touch of fun!

Starting with the badger stamped on alcohol marker friendly card, from the same stamp set I took the bow tie and stamped this onto the badger and the cane stamped by his hand. I stamped up the top hat separately to add to him later.

Colour combination: brown grey and dark red triblend

Next up I took a stitched rectangle and cut a back panel from a dark navy blue piece of card. As this is for someone who loves playing poker I wanted to include a card type theme. Printing some digi paper that has the symbols of a pack of cards and took stitched strips of ease to cut strips from each piece of paper and placed these diagonally on my backing panel, snipping off the additional length each side.

Now for the fun bit, the lights! Now this is pretty easy, the name EZ lights say it all really! I previously shared another light up card post here with some instructions or you can find some great tutorials on youtube or directly through the website here.

I find I get a little ahead of myself and forget to take step by step photos along the way, I'll try get better at this!

I placed my lights behind the bow on the badger and the top of the cane.

Visit my Instagram, link at the end of my post to see a video of it in action!

For the button press I took another piece of patterned paper and cut out one of the card shapes with some Aces on it and glued this on my panel where the button is hidden underneath.

Next up I took 2 stitched oval shape dies and used one that fit the sentiment from the same dark navy blue card as my backing panel and the next size up to line up behind from a red piece of card. It almost looks like poker chips on a side view, maybe?

I heat embossed the sentiment with WOW embossing powder.

I've used a good depth foam tape to attach the front panel to a card base to allow plenty of room for the light mechanism inside the card.

These lights are so fun and I highly recommend them to add dimension to a card.

Until next time, happy crafting!
