MyBesties - January Challenge

Hey Crafty Friends,

Welcome back, Happy New Year! I'm back today to share my inspiration for our January challenge over on the Color it, Create it, Show it off challenge blog. 

As always our challenges are always anything goes, that means any image, any project! You can find all the details on how to enter here.

Now the festive season is over I've put together a card to wish you all a Happy New Year! 

The image I am using can be found here. As always all other product links can be found at the end of my post.

Starting with the image printed on alcohol marker friendly cardstock and coloured using Spectrum Noir Tri-Blends. (Click any image to view larger)

For the background I used Coral Distress Ink and spritzed with water, dabbing with a kitchen towel to create a cool background.

The image was chosen as we are a family of 3 which includes our dog so I thought it would make a sweet card. To compliment the image I am using a sentiment by Heffy Doodle, having recently discovered heat embossing its quickly become a favourite technique of mine especially for sentiments to really make them pop.

Using some number dies in my stash to cut out 2021 and stuck everything down, I love how this came together.

I can't wait to see what you all come up with for the challenge.

April Challenge - MyBesties

Hey Crafty Friends, It's a new month so that means the start of a new challenge over on the Colour it, Create it, Show it off challenge blog, as always our challenge is anything goes, that's any image, any project. Why not grab you favourite set and join us  here. If you would like to treat yourself to a new image you can find all the MyBesties images  here. This will be a shorter post again today, it's a very simple card. I coloured the image in Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and fussy cut around her. Taking a card blank and used Kitsch flamingo distress ink to bring down some colour to about a quarter down the panel and fade out into the white to give a very soft look and feel. Using some trees branches, flowers and leaves from a couple sets in my stash and a birthday sentiment to top this off and bring it all together.  I cant wait to see what you come up with for the challenge! Swan Galaxy - Interactive card!

Hey Crafty Friends, Welcome back, I'm sharing my usual design team post for Crafty Purple Frog a few days early because I am so impatient and love this card so much that I wanted to share with you all at the earliest opportunity!  Today's card is very fitting, I usually make a card with someone in mind or themed around something I've seen. My idea for this came as soon as I saw the set 'Spread your wings' This beautiful swan has big regal wings that meant it deserved the opportunity to fly! To start up I took a scalloped slimline frame die and inked up a galaxy type background, now the thing to remember with creating a galaxy background is it might look like a hot mess to start with! A galaxy background can use any colours you feel are fitting, I'm using Wilted Violet, Mermaid Lagoon and Candied Apple. You can put some greens and pinks in too if you would like.  Take a blending tool, I'm using a blending brush and bring in random sections of colour using you
