You give me butterflies!
Hey Crafty Friends,
Welcome back, today I'm sharing a very quick and simple tutorial for a valentines themed card. If you have Instagram you can head over here and find a quick video. This is the first time I've done a video tutorial and hope to be able to bring you more of these soon!
If Instagram isn't your thing or you prefer to see step by step photos you can continue reading here and I'll break everything down as usual with product links at the end.
Taking a card panel cut from a stitched rectangle I lined with low tac tape a section off at the top which will form the main focal point of this card.
Inking a background with Distress Ink Candied Apple and Abandoned Coral , spritz with water and dab with kitchen towel. Distress ink works well reacted with water, dab some on the surface and react with a small amount of water, using a small paint brush pick up small pieces and tab gently over your inked area a few cm away from your project to create a splatter affect (Click any image to view larger)
You can use a heat gun to set the wet ink or set aside to dry, this is what I'm going to do while I move onto the other elements of my card. Using a MISTI to stamp the images from the Butterflies stamp set by Time for Tea designs. I'm using Spectrum Noir Triblends to colour them up.
For the sentiment I've taken a piece of black cardstock and using opaque bright white WOW embossing powder. Versamark ink on the stamp and covered with the embossing powder, use a heat gun to set.
Sticking the sentiment just under the inked section and the butterflies within the inked area I added just a small amount of embellishement.
I love how quick, clean and simple this card came together. I'd love to hear your thought's in the comments, are you working on valentine day cards right now or something else?
Until next time, Happy Crafting!
