Happy Easter!

 Hey Crafty Friends,

Today I'm sharing a card full of Easter cheer combining two of my favourite brands Sweet November Stamps and Heffy Doodle

The sentiment from the Sweet November Stamps set needed a few extra treats added to it which is where the Heffy Doodle honey bunny boo stamp set came into play, whilst I had this stamp set out for the Easter eggs I stamped some extra images that I felt would work too. 


Card Recipe:

1. Start by die cutting the slider die from butterscotch card stock.

2. Make your card base from the same coloured card. Slimline card base is cut to 8.5x7, scored at 3.5

5. Using a basket case stencil and scattered straw ink for a tone on tone look 

Tip: when using a 6x6 stencil on a slimline card you can start at the top and then move your stencil down, overlap the pattern with where you started which will help keep it lined up to use on a slimline. This usually works best with a repetitive pattern such as the one in the stencil I've used today.

6. Colour your images in your favourite medium. I'm using copics.

Colour combo:

Lamb - C7, C5, C3, C1, C0

Bunnies - E18, E15, E21, E11

Easter Eggs - chose your favourite colour blends, Easter eggs are supposed to be colourful and mis matched, in my view anyway!

Carrots - YR07, YR04, YR02

Basket - BV25, BV23, BV31

7. Before assembling stamp the sentiment from the sweet easter set onto both the front of the card and the pull tab section. This way even when the card is pulled up you will still be able to see the sentiment!

8. Now you can assemble together, I'm using foam tape as this helps create depth for the pull element. Glue images down with adhesive glue. Make sure all the images are only stuck down where they will not interfere with the sliding mechanism, it's ok to have them hanging over the edge just ensure the glue is only on the piece that will move!

April Challenge - MyBesties

Hey Crafty Friends, It's a new month so that means the start of a new challenge over on the Colour it, Create it, Show it off challenge blog, as always our challenge is anything goes, that's any image, any project. This will be a shorter post again today, it's a very simple card. I coloured the image in Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and fussy cut around her. Taking a card blank and used Kitsch flamingo distress ink to bring down some colour to about a quarter down the panel and fade out into the white to give a very soft look and feel. Using some trees branches, flowers and leaves from a couple sets in my stash and a birthday sentiment to top this off and bring it all together.  I cant wait to see what you come up with for the challenge! Swan Galaxy - Interactive card!

Hey Crafty Friends, Welcome back, I'm sharing my usual design team post for Crafty Purple Frog a few days early because I am so impatient and love this card so much that I wanted to share with you all at the earliest opportunity!  Today's card is very fitting, I usually make a card with someone in mind or themed around something I've seen. My idea for this came as soon as I saw the set 'Spread your wings' This beautiful swan has big regal wings that meant it deserved the opportunity to fly! To start up I took a scalloped slimline frame die and inked up a galaxy type background, now the thing to remember with creating a galaxy background is it might look like a hot mess to start with! A galaxy background can use any colours you feel are fitting, I'm using Wilted Violet, Mermaid Lagoon and Candied Apple.
